Grandma's Cherry Delight Pudding

1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup cherry juice
1 cup pitted cherries  (bing preferred)
1 tsp soda dissolved in 1 tablespoon of boiling water
1/2 cup pecans  (optional)


Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Sift dry ingredients, then add egg, butter, and cherry juice.  Mix well and add cherries, nuts, and soda/water mixture.  Pour into a greased 9X9 in pan.  Bake for 35 minutes.

Sauce-
1 cup brown sugar,
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon flour,
1/2 cup hot water or left over cherry juice

Put in saucepan and boil until thick.  Pour over hot cake, serve with whip cream.

French Bread

1 packet of yeast
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 1/4 cups warm water
1/2 Tablespoon salt
2 Tablespoons oil
3 1/2 cup flour

Put ingredients in bowl in the order listed.
Add enough flour to knead with hands for 5 minutes.
Let rest in covered bowl for 10 minutes.
Repeat this process until on the 5th time instead of punching down, roll flat (about 12x18 inches)
Roll up in long tube, pinch edges together and lay on a greased cookie sheet.
Let rise until double (at least 30 minutes).
Cut 3-4 slashes diagonally across loaf with sharp knife,
Take care not to deflate dough.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
Brush with butter to make shiny.

Can double recipe for 2 loaves.

Dorrie's Yummy Crock Pot Soup

1 can of rotel
1 can of corn
1 can of black beans (drained and rinsed)
2 frozen chicken breasts
8 oz cream cheese
1 packet ranch dip
1TB cumin
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp chili powder

Put everything in crock pot and cook for 6- 8 hours.  Shred chicken and enjoy.

This soup was a little thick so I would add a can of water or chicken broth.

Eggnog Pumpkin Pie Spice Pancakes

2 cups Bisquick baking mix

2 eggs

1 cup eggnog

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon

2 Tbs sugar

1/4 cup milk

1/2 cup cinnamon chips

Oatmeal pancake mix

4 cups oatmeal
2 cups flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup powdered milk
3 T baking powder
2 T cinnamon
5 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cream of tartar

Mix and store.

To serve pancakes:
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 cup water
2 cups pancake mix

Apple pie filling

8 quarts apples = 20 apples peeled
1 cup cornstarch
4 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 T cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg
1 t salt
10 cups water

Mix 1 cup cornstarch and 5 cups water stir until dissolved.  Add other ingredients and other 5 cups water, boil until thick.  Add 3T lemon juice and  boil for 25 minutes.
Put in jars and water bath for 35 minutes.
Makes 6 1/2 quarts.

Courtney's dinner rolls

4 cups scalded milk or 1 can evaporated milk w/ water
1 cup cold water
1 cup sugar
some flour
 Add 4 eggs beaten
1 1/2- 2 TB yeast
Mix until cake like.  Raise for 1/2 hour.

1 cup oil or 1 cup butter
1T salt
Add more flour until it becomes a soft dough.

Raise for 1/2 hour or double in size.

Melt 1 stick of butter in bowl.  Dip hands in butter and pinch off dough and make rolls.

For cinnamon rolls or sticky buns bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
For dinner rolls bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
4 across in pan.
